Google Launches Nexus S the time is now for NFC

The eagerly anticipated Google Nexus S with Gingerbread Android OS is now in Carphone Warehouse Stores nationwide, anyone with enough cash in their pocket can pick one up from £429.95 or on contract from £30 per month. The store has exclusive rights to the phone in the initial roll-out stages but consumers will be able to buy the handset from other stores early next year. The Nexus S comes with NFC technology, allowing users to ‘tap’ NFC tap points. NFC has been hailed over recent months as the technology that promises to revolutionise how we access information, services and make payments. With the introduction of a number of NFC enabled smartphones in the new year (including Nokia, iPhone and Blackberry RIM), the revolution looks set to begin.

NFC technology itself is very simple, when a user taps an NFC tap point a small piece of location and service information is exchanged with the device.
